Club Life In Moomin Vally by Tove Jansson

Moominmamma isn't too happy when she's not able to be admitted to Moominpappa's new club -- the Knights of the Catapult. So in defiance, she too decides to join a club.

But unfortunately, the club she joins is just not her cup of tea. It is, in fact a club of gangsters, who revel in dubious and illegal activities. Alas, Moominmamma gets caught up in all the drama.

But in classic Tove Jansson style, he roots for the feminist and Moominmamma ultimately rebels on her own to start a club that is so uniquely hers. She even somehow convinces Stinky to be a part of it.

Humour is infused subtly in the storyline. Here Moominmamma has lost her handbag.

All is well that ends well.

The illustrations are wonderfully constructed. Each holds an interesting perspective, that mesmerizes the reader. Tove Jansson is a pro in the art of stringing us along the journey. It's always such a happy feeling reading any of the Moomin stories. He is a rare storyteller able to blend sense of decency and humour, with visually captivating, adorable characters.
